Debra DarlingDebra is much like Elizabeth of England, just another old and dowdy queen. She claims to have been in heels since she was eleven, which was before computers walked the land. She was an early member of NWGA and helped found Emerald City, where she served in every office including twice as President. She was part of the group that started Esprit and is a Past Chairman of the event. She helped start an outreach program in Seattle that speaks at local colleges. Over the past decade she and the other girls have spoken to over 15,000 students about transgendered people. Debra loves to party, which is how she became known as the Party Queen for Esprit. She loves heels that are too high, skirts that are too short, and feathers--lots of feathers. She was the Esprit original girl out front for many Esprit occurences, including the trip to Hurricane Ridge, the Wednesday night kick-off party, speaking at the local schools and college, High Tea at the Empress (Take a Queen to Tea) in Victoria, the Lake Crescent Boat Tour, Singing at the Eagles, Casino Night, and a Pajama Party at the local tough guy bar. All that, and she is still alive and kicking! This year she will be assisting Margo in producing and co-hostessing the Friday night Talent Show. |
