Dr. Lawrence presents:

Living in the Transwoman's Body

A candid group discussion of life in the transwoman's body -- pre-op, post-op, or non-op. Hormone effects, SRS stories and results, and more. The focus will be on group participation in a respectful, non-judgmental space.

Participants are asked to come ready to share their own perspectives and experiences. Everyone who identifies as a transwoman is welcome to attend. Please be aware that this a clothing-optional event to permit "show and tell." Share as little or as much as is comfortable. Participation will be limited to 15 persons. Please try to arrive on time.

Thoughts to consider:

  • Why do we reshape and modify our bodies?
  • How have we changed our bodies and what have been the results? (hormones, surgery, non-surgical, hair)
  • How do we feel about our bodies? What do we like or dislike?
  • Do we compare ourselves to non-trans-women? to other transwomen?
  • Is the process of change more important than the end result?
  • Do transwomen have their own beauty? Can we be "transsexually beautiful"?
  • How do we feel about the sexuality of our bodies? How do our bodies function sexually? Waht feels good? Can we be present in our bodies during sex?
  • Do we miss anything about the way our bodies used to be? Our muscular strength? Our body and facial hair? Our birth genitals? A different sexuality?
